Park Lifelink

new for 2007

running time: 20-30 minutes

Commissioned by Greenwich and Docklands Festival, Park Life falls somewhere between A Clockwork Orange and The Keystone Cops... Hidden somewhere in the greenery of an urban park, well away from prying eyes, a sinister game of cat-and-mouse is being played. A rope, suspended from a unique spiralling sculpture houses the dangerous interplay between our four bizarre characters - the Killer, the Undertaker, the Lackey and the Whore. Performed as live art/aerial installation/performance this unusual work can be shown indoors or out.

Thanks and huge congratulations for your fantastic performances... I thought your piece was a very unusual and interesting approach to aerial work that stuck very closely to the brief we gave and really worked! Greenwich & Docklands Festival

Park Life will be showing at the University of Kent at Canterbury on September 21st and 22nd, shows at 3pm and 5pm. Click here for further information.

Return Journey link

running time: 20 minutes

A solo aerial-dance on dramatic black fabric, this work portrays an emotional journey of a woman in conflict. Drawn from her experiences and familial associations with Palestine, and performed to Reem Kelani's haunting voice, Tina Carter compels us to view aerial outside the circus big top to see it with a fresh perspective.

Return Journey can be performed as a solo piece or as part of a triptych of work called Ulterior Motives.

I think you could watch that over and over again, there were such extreme emotions in it Audience Member

Peace Process

running time: 20-30 minutes

An experimental, competitive, improvisation with a minimum of two aerialists (maximum dependant upon rigging facilities) climbing intensively against each other; a battle of wills, of physical strength and determination that plays itself out live to determine who is the winner. Having ended, the audience is left to question what the point was, what they were fighting for, and who really did win. Performed as a metaphor for the struggle for peace in the Middle East, this work has proven to be controversial and stimulating. Performers vary for each show ensuring that the outcome is never pre-determined.

There was something immensely strong about the starkness, the white ropes and white light of the piece, and use of sound, that remains in the memory long after it finished. Audience Member

Ulterior Motives

Running Time: 1 hour

A triptych of work comprising Peace Process, Everyday Language and Return Journey suitable for touring to riggable indoor theatre spaces.

Performance can be accompanied by discussion/lecture/workshop with Director/Performer Tina Carter. Suitable for adult audiences.
